Our first Christmas together!

Joshua and I had our very FIRST Christmas together!! This was our first experience with any type of "gift exchanging" and apparentally we REALLY know each other because we got A-MAZING gifts for each other! (Mainly Josh did) But Jake and Caroline got me a rack to hang all my necklaces because the other day Joshua and I were untangeling all my necklaces and he spent hours fixing all the broken ones! Thanks Shilligs! lol

Aww so a LONG time ago I told Josh I wanted The Chronicles of Narnia books and he remembered!! He went to great lengths to get these! Haha I can't wait to read them again!

He doesn't have much warm OR dressy clothes. He looks SO handsome in this!!

So he got me THE coolest Ed Hardy Converses! I have wanted some SO bad for the past several months and he surprised me with them! They're purple and way decorative and awesome! I can't wait to wear them!!

Oh Josh is wearing the pajamas AND socks I got for him!! He needed new ones SO bad. He was telling me JUST yesteday how he lost all of his socks. Am I good? Or am I good? lol

Once we were babysitting for Caroline when she went shopping and she got the cutest sweater ever! Josh went and got me a pink one!

Aww This was my favorite!! So it's "My Baby" (Josh) holding "Baby Kayla" (hahah me) and it was just so cute! The little things he does!! :)

He got me the most awesome grey leather boots that you wear outside of your jeans...SO presh!

Another dressy shirt for when we go on dates!

Back when we were first dating he would text me in the morning before I woke up and he'd say "MIIIIIIIIICHELE" so now he still calls me that!

Oh so i've been wanting some jeans with big rhinstones all on the pockets SO bad!!! He got the right size and everything!!! :)

Lia got me a bunch of cute socks AND a big thing of snickers...my favorite candy!!

Grandma got me the cutest black watch!

My parents got us cologne and perfume! Josh absolutely NEEDED that! Thanks mother!

And my mom got me a much needed black pea coat! Now I won't freeze out here in Utah.

So basically I had the most amazing Christmas ever! It was awesome seeing my family again and having them out here for Christmas! And I LOVED spending it with Joshua!! :)

My work party!

A few weeks ago my work had a Christmas Party and Joshua and I went!

We had a white elephant gift exchange and Joshua got a Windshield wiper!! :) I got 4 bottles of "Designer Cologne" from DOLLAR GENERAL!!! Talk about reekage! lol

So they handed out some awards to some of the employess. (My guess is favorites? Hahah) And the award I got was "Hey Y'all/Most Bubbly" Sweet huh? lol Most of the awards were goofy and silly...and so my "Most Bubbly" was better than most! haha

It's Official...

I know, I know....you've all been waiting around anxiously for this post...We'll i'm happy to say that it's here!! Joshua and I are Officially engaged!!! As on November 23, 2009..

Here's the story..


So Joshua picks me up from work with a bag in his hand. He apparently talked to my Manager to make sure I would get off at 3. He gives me a cute little card that gives me a hint to where I can go to get ready at Caroline's, where all my make up and hair things were. Also he picked my outfit out himself!

Each card has a sweet message of something he loves about me, an inside joke or things like that. We've discussed we don't want our kids playing a ton of video games, so of course as I read the next clue that takes me to Game Stop, where we buy his favorite video game. lol I was so confused what to do or ask for and he slips me the money...so it was ME who bought him the game, or so he says. They give us the next card...
Which brings us to Claire's! For Christmas I asked for hair flowers, so one day we went to the mall so I could show him ones that I like. So he brought me back to buy me one!! It was so pretty!! The next clue...
Takes us to Kay Jewelers! So I look in the case and there is the ring that we picked out, so then I decided NO WAY was he proposing today...because there is the ring. So we talk with the guy who is ALWAYS there when we go to look at the ring. And then we put it back in the case :( and he gives me another clue..

Which leads to the Nissan car dealership!! I LOVE Armada's..especially white ones! So we go in and some guy comes and meets us and hands me the keys to the white Armada parked in the front and says "take it for a spin!!" I was like uhh...Josh? For reals? And so we get in the car and he Josh pulls out an envelope in the glove compartment. Which takes us to...JAMBA JUICE! We love Jamba Juice!! So we go get a drink then head back to the dealership. So the next clue takes me to his work! (Toys R Us!!) And he took me on a little scavenger hunt in the store..just showing me around and showing me all the things he does there.


They give us another clue that takes us to the Nickelcade! (Nickel arcade) But we had dinner reservations in Salt Lake so we couldn't go that night, so we kept the nickels he bought hoping to go back another day...but someone broke in his car and stole them! :(

So we go to Dinner at "The Roof" Which is a suuper fancy restaurant that overlooks the Salt Lake Temple! He requested seats with a perfect view of the temple. At this point I was pretty convinced that was just being a super sweet boyfriend taking me on a really fancy date! We ate dinner, which was delectable, and just sat around and talked. So then I was like "Hey I gotta go to the bathroom..so can we leave?" And he was like "Uhh, well I like uhh...just talking" So I said okay i'll just wait. More and more time goes by and I'm like "Josh...I really have to pee, can we leave???" And he starts saying "Well, can you just go and come back? Want me to walk you?" And I was SO confused cause he was being SO weird! So finally I was like "Alright i'll just go and come back...YA WEIRDIE! lol" So I come back and he starts talking and says he has ANOTHER surprise for me..I was like ehh no way..but up comes this LITTLE BLACK BOX!! Then i'm really like NO WAY!! I saw the ring...no way! He comes and gets on one knee and says "Kayla Michele Jarrell, Will you marry me??" And opens the box and...IT'S MY RING!!! I was FREAKING out!! I started saying "What the! No way!! How did you get it? Oh my how did you! What?!?!?!" And I realized..oh...he needs an answer so I scream "OF COURSE! OF COURSE! OF COURSE!!!! And THEN I ask questions.


So apparently he bought the ring several weeks ago and has been keeping this a secret from me. Looking back he has almost let is slip! He's said "Oh guess what! oh wait..I forgot" Or once I went in the store TWO days after he bought it...but he asked the people to order another so I wouldn't notice! He's so sneaky!! He's NEVER been able to keep a secret, surprise or present from me! But he did a dang good job....don't-ja-think??
He was so relieved afterwards! lol Looking back he was acting EXTREMELY awkward! lol It seemed so surreal thinking...that Josh actually proposed! I knew it was coming..but wow!!

We absolutely LOVE the ring!! Picture's don't do justice. But this is the best we got. It's a "Chocolate Diamond" with a "Rose Gold, or Strawberry Gold" band! It is SO sparkly!

What a perfect end to a perfect date...

Barbie and Ken!

So for halloween Josh and I decided we should be Barbie and Ken!! We went shopping at D.I. and found my shirt, pants, purse and Joshua's shirt all for like $20! It was way hard at firs to think of what to wear, but some how we pulled it all together! We won "Best Couple" costume at The Shilligs halloween party! We won 3 sticks of chapstick! ;) Afterwards us, my room mate Rachel, and Troy all went to our ward halloween party. It was actually really fun! Even though it was just a costume, I think I like Josh in "preppy" clothes! He refused to wear that shirt ever again though. :/ lol.

The new and improved...JOSHUA!! So Josh's hair has gotten SO long that he couldn't even fix his

HAIR!! We couldn't find anyone to cut his hair, so we were feeling brave, and he said he trusted me. So I took some clippers to it! We used an 8 and a 6 on his hair. At first we didn't really like it but once he fixed it...he looked SO handsome!! My little boy looks all grown up now!!
